Waterford WISP, Incorporated was founded in 2003 as an affiliate of the non-profit Waterford Foundation. to provide high speed wireless Internet access service to homes in the Waterford community and surrounding countryside of Loudoun County, Virginia. Waterford WISP is one of the oldest, if not the oldest continuously operating commercial wireless broadband operators in Loudoun County and Northern Virginia. It was founded by Waterford residents and community leaders who understood the value of bringing high-speed Internet broadband service to residents.
All profits from the Waterford WISP services go to the Waterford Foundation, which was founded in 1943 to preserve and inform people about historic Waterford, a living rural village founded by Quakers in 1733 that has been designated by the U.S. National Parks Service as a National Historic Landmark.
